                                                                      EDUCATION OF THE UNDERPRIVILEGED

As these challenging times continue, we had to temporarily suspend the services of the free medical clinics we were holding in Powai. But we took this paradigm shift in our stride and decided to launch another initiative, the “Help Your Help” campaign, one that was more relevant to the current education system.

COVID hit our domestic help( maids, drivers, watchmen, and other housekeeping staff) quite hard, as a lot for them were, and still are not allowed to come work, leaving their financial situation entirely dependant of the generosity of their employers. To make sure that their financial situation did not hamper their kids’ education, we are trying to step in and help.

You too can help by way of partnering with us in supporting the underprivileged live with dignity. You can pass along the contact details of your maids, if they need help with their kids’ education (in and around Powai) and we will attempt to help out as best we can. Donations toward the cause are always welcome.

FREE MEDICAL CLINICS IN POWAI

Since April 2015, every Thursday, we have been arranging for a free medical clinic at Anoushka Clinic, Crystal Centre, Raheja Vihar, Powai, Mumbai, between 2:30-4:30 pm. We aim to provide quality medical facilities to the weaker section of society, namely domestic helps, guards, construction site workers etc.(in and around Powai). We have tied up with a qualified Doctor who attends to these patients and dispenses basic medicines free of cost. We are also piloting a ‘housing society social responsibility’ programme on the lines of CSR. We are working with housing societies to help them conduct in-house clinics for the benefit of the maids, drivers and guards.

Around ~40 patients avail of this free service every week.

So far (as of April 2017) we have had 5500+ patient visits in our clinics.

We are working towards engaging more doctors so that the clinic can be extended for more days and subsequently, in other areas.
